Have you decided how you're going to cook your first egg? :)Jessica at Bwlchyrhydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16003432996223619115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11925924.post-1140695511789586482006-02-23T11:51:00.000+00:002006-02-23T11:51:00.000+00:00They were 2-3 months from point-of-lay when we bou...They were 2-3 months from point-of-lay when we bought them. It's 2 months now so the older 2 should start laying any day now.
I ask them every morning. 'Any eggs for me today?'muserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06879878122666627444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11925924.post-1140694061089861112006-02-23T11:27:00.000+00:002006-02-23T11:27:00.000+00:00How old are they? If they are old enough I would think they would just lay. You might need to put fake eggs in the nest boxes if they are laying elsewhere, to encourage them to put the eggs where you want them, but they should just lay when they are old enough I would have thought. How old are they?Jessica at Bwlchyrhydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16003432996223619115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11925924.post-1140693644591141322006-02-23T11:20:00.000+00:002006-02-23T11:20:00.000+00:00Yes, keep up with the eggs. :)My hens aren't layin...Yes, keep up with the eggs. :)
My hens aren't laying yet. Any time soon. Should i put something egg-like in their nest boxes so they know what to do?muserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06879878122666627444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11925924.post-1140682815170816632006-02-23T08:20:00.000+00:002006-02-23T08:20:00.000+00:00Yes -- New Girl is the female chick who's all grow...Yes -- New Girl is the female chick who's all grown up now -- you should know -- you named her that when you were up here! Her eggs are the littlest ones -- they will get larger when she gets more used to laying...

The sick one is unfortunately still sick -- the antibiotics don't seem to have done anything. I was at the vet again the other day with the cats for their annual vaccinations and I asked the vet about the hen -- he said that basically the next step is to kill her and have her autopsied and then we will know what was wrong with her in the hopes that we can prevent it happening to the rest of the hens -- seeing as how this is the second one... So we are thinking about if we want to do this or not... :(Jessica at Bwlchyrhydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16003432996223619115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11925924.post-1140649003123056132006-02-22T22:56:00.000+00:002006-02-22T22:56:00.000+00:00I enjoy reading about your eggs!
