Cockerel Update

On the right is our fully grown cockerel and the father of the chicks that hatched at the end of June (and of the chicks that we are hoping are going to hatch imminently...photos to follow).  On the left is the cockerel chick that we were given beginning of May-ish (I somehow failed to note this in the farm diary...) -- and he crowed for the first time yesterday!  Time to put the big one in the pot...

Shearing

We sheared three of the ewes today, so just three left to do. 

This is my attempt at getting all the ewes and lambs in one shot -- but I seem to have missed one of the lambs...

Greedy Ewe is not happy that she is all nekkid now!  "What did you do to me???"  :)

And here's Pete -- a week after his butchering, he isn't actually looking that bad...
