Dydd Afalau Bwlchyrhyd

Bart gave us a ton of apples, and it was raining today, so I made apple butter...

...and Katharina made apple strudel!

Hi June! Hope you are enjoying it way up in the north there...

The apple butter recipe is from Joy of Cooking:

4 pounds apples
2 cups apple cider vinegar
brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

Wash and quarter apples. Put apples and vinegar in large pot and cook over low heat until apples are mush. Put through strainer/sieve/food mill.

For each cup of pulp, add 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Add spices. Put back over low heat and cook until mixture sets.

Let me know how you get on!
