Mae'r hwrdd wedi mynd

Right, well, today last year's ram lamb went off to be slaughtered. He will be in the freezer by the end of the week...

I finally managed to get a close up shot of lamb number 5 -- look at those markings! Adorable, but not at all what he should look like...

And this is the hillside opposite us, where they have been harvesting the wood:

The timber will be replanted. In fact, further along the same hillside are seedlings (treelings?) that were planted a few years ago. You just have to think of the trees as a crop like carrots. You aren't sad when you harvest the carrots as you know you will be planting more again next year and in the meantime you get to eat carrots. The timber is the same thing, it just takes longer to grow, but it will be replanted and grow again, and in the meantime, farmers will be able to put up new fencing!
